Visitor Guidelines for Battleship “G. AVEROF”
A visit to Battleship “G. AVEROF” is a unique experience: here, you do not
simply walk on a ship, but on the very decks where the dreams and struggles
of an entire Nation were forged.
Today, as a Floating Naval Museum, it continues to serve the Homeland,
safeguarding memory and educating future generations.
To ensure safety, respect, and the best possible experience for all, please
take note of the following guidelines:
Visitor Safety
All visitors bear full responsibility for their personal safety, as well
as the supervision and safety of minors in their care. –
Most passageways (hatches, thresholds, stairways) do not comply with
modern accessibility standards. Visitors must use handrails where available
and step carefully one foot at a time without jumping. –
Children under 18 are not permitted to enter without an accompanying
adult. –
The crew and staff are not responsible for any accidents or injuries
sustained during the visit. –
On Deck -2, safety helmets and protective caps are provided and should
be worn by visitors. –
Loud talking, shouting, or disruptive noise is prohibited. Sound
resonates against the steel bulkheads; group shouting, teasing, or loud
discussions disturb the tour and create confusion in the confined spaces. –
Escorts must ensure their groups maintain “museum silence” (maximum
acceptable speaking volume). –
Do not touch exhibits, wooden or metal parts of the ship, or preserved
artifacts.
Climbing on guns, funnels, fittings, or non-accessible decks is strictly
prohibited.
Visitors are required to follow the instructions of the Museum staff.
Non-compliance may result in removal from the Museum. –
In case of emergency (e.g., fire), visitors must follow staff
instructions and proceed to designated assembly points.
Security Check
Visitors may be subject to bag inspection prior to entry. –
Entry with dangerous or suspicious items is strictly prohibited; such
items will be confiscated by security staff.
Dress Code – Footwear
Entry is to a Warship with narrow passageways and steep stairways. –
Appropriate clothing and footwear are strongly recommended. Avoid
flip-flops, high heels, or attire that restricts movement. –
Clothing considered inappropriate for the Museum’s character (e.g.,
carnival costumes, uniforms, overly revealing outfits) is not permitted.
Visitors may be asked to leave if improperly dressed.
Luggage – Strollers
Only small handbags are permitted. Large bags or backpacks cannot be
stored.
Large backpacks must be carried by hand or worn on the front to avoid
contact with exhibits or bulkheads. –
Baby strollers cannot be accommodated due to narrow passageways and
stairways.
For infants and toddlers, baby carriers are recommended.
The Museum does not provide storage; parents/guardians bear full
responsibility for their children.
Food – Drink – Smoking
Eating and drinking are prohibited in all areas. –
Smoking is not permitted anywhere on board (indoors or outdoors). –
Chewing gum and littering are not allowed.
Photography – Filming
Amateur photography is permitted without flash, tripods, or additional
equipment.
Filming is prohibited without prior authorization, as is photographing/filming serving personnel (Law 2472/1997).
Professional photography or filming is only allowed by special permission.
Selfie sticks and drones are not permitted.
Pets
Pets are not allowed.
Exception: guide dogs accompanying persons with disabilities.

beverages, bicycles, scooters, roller skates, or any object posing a risk
to safety are strictly prohibited.

behavior, safety) to ensure a smooth and safe educational experience.

Visitors must not enter restricted or roped-off areas closed for safety
or preservation.
Museum staff are present to assist you; non-compliance with their instructions will not be tolerated.

that unites the Nation’s past with its present. –
By following these rules, you contribute to ensuring that this
emblematic vessel remains a living monument, worthy of its history and the
sacrifices it represents.
