On the occasion of World Music Day and the Year of Ioannis Kapodistrias, the Battleship G. AVEROF Museum invites you to a unique evening of music and culture dedicated to freedom, education and the cultural heritage of Hellenism.
Kapodistrian Corfu, Solomos’ Zakynthos and the historic Battleship G. AVEROF come together symbolically at the Maritime Heritage Park “Odysseus – The Greeks and the Sea”, creating a memorable journey through music, history and tradition.
The Zakynthian Serenaders (Tragoudistades tsi Zakythos), guardians of the Ionian musical tradition, and the Philharmonic Union of Corfu “Kapodistrias”, one of Greece’s most distinguished institutions of musical education, join forces in an event of profound symbolism beneath the Greek Flag.
A highlight of the evening will be the ceremonial lowering of the Flag aboard the historic Battleship G. AVEROF and the performance of the “Hymn to Liberty”, where music meets history and memory becomes inspiration.
